NFCA Mourns the Passing of Dana Reeve

March 2006 — NFCA mourns the passing of Dana Reeve, actress, advocate, and caregiver. Dana was a member of NFCA's Honorary Board and a true friend to family caregivers. She will be sorely missed by NFCA and all of the millions she has touched with her compassion, her strength, and her actions to make America a more friendly place for those with spinal cord injuries and related disorders, as well as their family caregivers.

Dana's passing is a reminder about the impact of stress on a caregiver's well being, and the need for family caregivers to protect their own physical, psychological and emotional health. As a note to all family caregivers, is it time to make an appointment for yourself?

NFCA's current campaign, Caring Every Day, tells family caregivers to ... Believe in yourself; Protect your health; Reach out for help.

The finest way for family caregivers to honor Dana Reeve is by taking action today to protect their own health.
