SHARE YOUR STORY AND FIND A FAMILY CAREGIVER PEN PAL

January 2008 — Family caregivers connecting directly with other family caregivers is the core of NFCA's National Story Project and Pen Pal Program. Now you can reach out to others living with similar situations that you face every day. How are other family caregivers dealing with the highs and lows of caregiving?

The Story Project lets you speak up and share your story which can help to reduce feelings of isolation and relieve some of the emotions you may have inside. It is also a great way to help bring about the changes, which are needed to make the lives of caregiving families much easier. You can share your story and read other family caregiver stories HERE. Find your family caregiver pen pal right here and start realizing the many ways you can help each other.

How this works:

It all starts with NFCA's National Story Project, a collection of heart-felt stories about the family caregiving experience. All family caregiving stories are welcome.

To find a Pen Pal, search through stories and be sure to check the circle that says, "Looking for a Pen Pal" as that will pull up a selection of stories by family caregivers willing to be Pen Pals.

The CONTACT button indicates this family caregiver is willing to be a pen pal with other family caregivers.

When you click on the Contact button you will see a form asking you to submit your own information and this will be automatically sent directly to the family caregiver you have requested.

Due to the busy schedules of family caregivers, NFCA cannot guarantee they will respond.

NFCA hopes this opens up wonderful new opportunities for connecting family caregivers.

To get started go to the NFCA Story Project.
