NFCA PRESIDENT INTERVIEWED ON NBC'S TODAY SHOW

November 2007 — Suzanne Mintz, president and co-founder of the National Family Caregivers Association was interviewed by Meredith Vieira on NBC's Today Show on November 21, during National Family Caregivers Month.

Ms. Mintz discussed the four messages for family caregivers including:

Believe in Yourself

Protect Your Health

Reach Out for Help

Speak Up for Your Rights

The feature was part of a 3-part Today Show series called Taking Care Today and included a video and interview with Rich King, a family caregiver for his wife.

The series shines a national spot light on the more than 50 million Americans providing more than $306 billion dollars in "free" caregiving services every year. Family caregivers provide more than 80% of all long term care services and businesses can lose more than $33 billion each year due to employees' need to care for loved ones 50 years of age or older.

Please view the interview here. (There is a brief advertisement at the beginning of the video.)
