How to do an Advertisement:
What — This is a paid advertisement in your local print media. It is considered a “display ad,” not a classified ad, and obviously requires funding.
How — Call your local papers and ask about display advertising rates and deadlines. You may choose to run it once for the month or once a week based on your budget. Note that Sunday rates are more expensive than Monday through Saturday, but you will also have a great deal more exposure because of the increased circulation. If you plan to place the ad more than once you may also receive a discount.
When — Secure ad space for the first week in November, if it is a generic ad about NFC Month. If it is for a special event set the date around the activity you are planning. When you pay for the ad, you are in a position to dictate when it runs.
Where — Work with the display advertising department at the newspaper, magazine, or newsletter you select to submit camera-ready ad slick. For an extra fee, they may design the ad for you.
